Project Name:
THE1000JOURNALPROJECT

I'm sure we have all heard stories about finding a long lost message in a bottle while walking along the beach.

Well here is an interesting twist..

Randomly distributed blank journals to willing participants around the world. Instruct these people to write something in the journal and then let them pass it on to someone else. Ask people who experience a SIGHTING of one of these journals to scan what they have added to the journal and email a jpeg of what they have written back to the website. Ask when the journal is full to mail it back to the sender...

From the FAQ:

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET THEM BACK?

"This project is based on the goodwill of it's participants. They will only come back, if somewhere down the line, a person gets one, decides it's full, and emails us to return it. That alone is the biggest part of the experiment, and the biggest risk. Perhaps none will return. Only time will tell."

THE1000JOURNALPROJECT was launch August the 1st, 2000. As of this date there are 410 journals circulating in Australia, Guam, South Africa, Canada, Denmark, Belgium, England, Spain, Israel, Tokyo, Denmark, Scotland, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, Portugal and 32 of the 50 United States. The next set of Journals is due to be sent out April 15th 2001
