From Moscow to the Billboard charts,
there is still no escaping the Fab 4.

On November the 13th, in conjunction with the release of the new CD "Beatles 1", the launch of the first and only official Beatles website thebeatles.com took place. This is one amazing website! It includes at least 24 original promotional films, audio tracks, single sleeve photos, games and endless Beatles pictures. There is enough material here to keep the biggest fan busy for hours.

About the CD:
According to the experts Beatles 1 is without question destined to become be the number one selling CD of all times. Eventually surpassing the Eagle's and Michael Jackson. It is hard to imagine that it took this long for a Beatles disc of greatest hits to become available but it has. Beatles 1 contains 27 singles that topped the charts in the US and Britain.
Roy Lott, Capital records chief says of the CD: "It displays the strength, quality and depth of the Beatles entire existence. If you want to know what makes the Beatles the Beatles, this album does it better than any other".

On a somewhat stranger note, it seems the boys from Liverpool played a hand in the cold war. This, according to Dr Yury Pelyoshonok, a Canadian doctor of Soviet studies who grew up in the Soviet Union. Dr. Pelyoshonok tells us, that the Soviet authorities thought the Beatles were a secret weapon of the cold war, because "the kids lost their interest in all Soviet unshakable dogmas and ideals and stopped thinking of all English-speaking persons as the enemy". What are the words to that old song? All you need is love?
