...not to disconnect from the net at the end of your work day.
Just because you have had a rotten day toiling away on your computer at the office or in the studio is no excuse to disconnect from the net! Let us show you some of the places on the net your work day would just not normally take you. Some of these stops come close to being pure diversionary, some have considerable substance. The one thing they all have in common is that they are amusing and totally non work related!
1. Kung-Fu Stickmen
With the recent success of the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" what could be more appropriate than "Kung-Fu Stickmen Flash Movies".
Kung-Fu stickmen may not sound that interesting, but just wait until you see how well these animations are done. It's amazing!
2. Book-A-Minute
In a world obsessed with faster net access, faster cars, faster meals and travel, the ability to read a classic book in seconds has to be a natural.
Here is an example:
The Island of Dr. Moreau by H. G. Wells; Ultra-Condensed by David J. Parker and Samuel Stoddard
Prendick: I am a shipwreck victim. Now I'm on this island against my will.
Dr. Moreau: Welcome to my island. Do you like my freaks?
Prendick: I hate them. They are unnatural abominations. Something terrible will come of your meddling with nature. (It does.) I'm glad to get off that island and away from those beast men, but now I hate humanity. How ironic.
-THE END-
3. Cinema Diabolico
What could be better than spending an evening looking at an online gallery of Mexican marquee art? Seriously, this stuff is entertaining and has been overlooked by collectors for way to long.
Items such as Lobby Cards for the movie "Santo In The Hotel Of Death, 1961" and posters for "Santo Vs. The Martian Invasion, 1966" are but two of the many available for your viewing pleasure (Santo was a famous Mexican wrestler by the way.)
4. The Totally Trivia Search Engine - More than 20,000 Facts - Updated Daily!
The name says it all! Aside from a huge data base they offer daily tidbits of information such as: "Up through the early1900's, the Ozark hill people in the U.S. thought that birds and rabbits started mating on February 14, a day for them which was not only Valentine's Day but Groundhog Day as well."
5. Boogie Bass Hack
I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but some time last summer America was invaded by talking fish. Trout and Bass to be specific.
Rather than try and explain this phenomena, we suggest you just visit the provided link and keep in mind that talking fishes are one thing, where as a fish that says what you want are a whole different catch.
6. Disturbing Auctions A site dedicated to the study of bizarre items found for sale on Internet auction sites. A study of the individuals who buy some of this stuff would be equally as interesting.
7. Index of Famous Monkeys
I'm not sure how or why, but I just know that some day this web address will come in handy!
8. Origins of American Animation
The development of early American animation is represented by this collection of 21 animated films and 2 fragments, which spans the years 1900 to 1921.

The films include clay, puppet, and cut-out animation, as well as pen drawings
9. Truth in Advertising
This is NOT a place to visit if you are trying to give up cigarettes. What we have here is a collection of vintage cigarette advertisements from the age of innocence.
If you have never before seen this kind of unabashed lying accompanied by some very cool art work you are in for a real eye opener.
10. Perpetual Bubblewrap
"For the ultimate in time wasting, simply roll your mouse over the bubble wrap to see and hear a satisfying 'pop' as the bubble bursts. Trouble is, the bubbles come right back after a bit, so it is - we are proud to announce - well and truly useless!"
