WebRadioCraig Bereboo is a crazy person. Now please understand. I mean that in the nicest way possible!

Reaching out to the world from Montreal Canada via the internet and RealAudio the self proclaimed 'world renowned' Craig Bereboo brings us the
'wallshuffle 0 1 2 web radio'.

Home base is Zero1art. Myself I proclaim him, Bereboo, as a somewhat demented individual with both a hysterical look and an insight into the world around him.
Bereboo's net radio program incorprates characters, music and commentary to cover a range of topics such as Science fooling around with DNA, Commercial Logging, Censorship on the Internet, Bill Gates, Geo-Cites, AOL, etc. There seems to be little if anything Bereboo won't tackle, all the while maintaining a smile on our face as well as his own I'm sure...

Quoting zero1art:
'This whole site is a study in WebArt. Everything here is done by independent artists for the love of art. We do not sell anything on this site. We're not after your money, we're after your mind.'

And now a word or two from Bereboo...

ON: How about a little explanation of Zero1art radio.

Bereboo: It's about communication really. Getting people together. Expressing ideas.

ON: How long have you been doing 012 radio?

Bereboo: Since last April. We have done 26 shows so far.

ON: In terms of the concept who is ultimately responsible for zero1art radio?

Bereboo: The WebMaster, Al Comtois (aka Falcon, named after the never really released Falcon computer from Atari). Al is an old friend of mine. We go back as far as 1978, where we met in school. He founded Zero1art independent web radio in 1996. Bereboo and Al

ON: We hear from the WEB MASTER from time to time in the radio programs, yes?

Bereboo: Yes, he does characters such as Larry, Mr.Walley and Billy Bob. Al, the WebMaster is always lost in cyber space.

ON: Is the WebMaster also responsible for the website?

Bereboo: You bet. He does all the photos and graphics. Al is a genius (in all terms of the word) and could earn thousands of dollars working for some big corporation, but he prefers starving in the comfort of his own home, working almost day and night to make it all happen on Zero1art.

ON: How often does a new show appear on the site?

Bereboo: We really try to have a new one up every week but it is a real struggle.

ON: The production value of the programs is fantastic, really exceptional. How long does it take to put together a 30 minute program?

Bereboo: It's like 20 to 30 hours of production time to do a 30 minute program. I purchased CUBASE about a year and a half ago and it's really amazing. I used to do stuff like this on 8 track tape which was much more time consuming. CUBASE and WAVELAB are so much better. Bereboo

ON: Mixed in with your characters and commentary I hear a lot of new music, music from unsigned bands.

Bereboo: Yes, I encourage bands to send their CDs or tapes to us, all the contact info is there in the shows. I love sharing these musical discoveries with the listeners.

ON: How many '0 1 2' shows are available on line?

Bereboo: Right now there is always the latest show, the current one and then 5 archived shows. The shows are approximately 30 minutes long each, so there is always about 2 1/2 hours '0 1 2' on line that can be heard.

ON: Any idea as to the number of people 'tuning' in during a week?

Bereboo: Zero1art gets around 20.000 hits a week, from that we have something like 3000 people a week listening to the shows.

ON: About the content of your shows: you cover such a wide range of things and let your feeling be known on all of them. I have to tell you that during parts of your 'Bill Gates' interview, your rant about DNA and commercial logging, I was laughing so hard that I had to pause 'RealAudio'. Where do you come up with this stuff? Is there anything you won't take on?

Bereboo: (Laughter) Well actually I just come up with subjects that I find intriguing. I'll go with something that is often time current in the news. I do a lot of research. Also, my girlfriend Helene Dube does research on the internet and fills the idea bag with info on environmental issues. She is a tremendous help.

ON: The environmental issues are very close to your heart, yes?

Bereboo: It's like we are in a big boat together and there are holes in this boat and it's sinking, we keep making more holes. In my shows I don't want to sound too moralizing. I really want to be informative but entertaining at the same time.

ON: Ultimately where would you like to see zero1art radio go? What do you see in the future ?

Bereboo: Al and Bereboo's dream is to rent a loft somewhere in an old warehouse or something, hire a crew and put forth all their ideas. To keep presenting unknown artist and to continue putting out the word. Oh ya, and keep on having fun.Micro Al
